Murals make home decor a very personal reflection of the people who live there.
Trompe l'oeil, meaning fool the eye, is an art technique in which the paintings are extremely realistic in order to create an illusion. An arched doorway that enters into another room, an outdoor scene that is not actually there, or vines with shadows are all examples.
Faux is another word for “False Finishes”. You might want pillars that look like marble, an old world fresco, wall aging, or custom textures. These techniques apply to walls as well as furniture.
